UNIKL, with 13 juniors on their team, are expected to continue their march in Division One of the MHF-Milo-NSC Junior Hockey League when they square off against Petaling Jaya City Council (PJCC) today.
The fact that UniKL hammered Anderson 6-1 on Friday is set to send shivers down the spines of PJCC players, as they had lost 2-0 to Anderson.
"Even though we hammered a team which had beaten PJCC, we will have to play consistent hockey for 70 minutes and only then rate our opponent today," said UniKL coach I. Vickneswaran.
UniKL share nine points with Anderson on the Division One standings, but they have only played three matches while Anderson four.
And if UniKL continue their winning streak today, they only have Bukit Jalil Sports School and Bandar Penawar Sports School-Thunderbolt to beat before they can unofficially claim the Division One title in their maiden JHL outing.
TODAY -- Division One: Bukit Jalil v Anderson (KLHA Stadium, 3pm), Thunderbolt v Kelantan (Bandar Penawar, 5pm), UniKL v Petaling Jaya CC (KLHA Stadium, 5pm).
Division Two: Datuk Taha v Johor (Tampin, 5pm), Pahang v Matri (Kuantan, 5pm).

Debutants UniKL hammered former champions Anderson 6-1 at the Kuala Lumpur Hockey Stadium yesterday to regain top spot in the MHF-Milo-NSC Junior Hockey League (MJHL) Division One standings.
It was the third consecutive win for UniKL, who have scored a total of 16 goals and conceded only three.
For Anderson, it was their first defeat in four matches. Both team are tied on nine points but UniKL have the better goal difference.
Mohd Aminuddin Abu (3rd, 43rd) and Mohd Sabri Mohamed (13rd, 40th) scored a brace each and the other goals came from Manraj Singh (6th) and Mohd Syamin Mohd Yusof (66th). Anderson’s goal was scored by Mohd Firdaus Sidek (29th).
Coach I. Vickneswaran felt that his team should have won by a wider margin.
“The forwards missed a few sitters and this does not augur well for a team who have 10 players from the national 2013 Project squad. We have to work on the finishing as there are three very tough opponents for us to deal with in the league,” he said.
UniKL have yet to play against double champions Bukit Jalil Sports Schol (BJSS), Bandar Penawar Sports School (BPSS)-Thunderbolt and Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
Anderson coach Mokhtar Baharuddin said that there were many weaknesses in his side.
“We lost by a big margin because the team made many defensive errors and the players were also not that fit,” he said.

WEEKK TWO PREVIEW
An intriguing weekend is in store in Division One of the MHF-Milo-NSC Junior Hockey League when the top four teams battle for leadership of the standings.
Anderson have the lead with nine points after three matches. But three other teams are in second place with six points from two matches. They are Universiti Kuala Lumpur, BPSS-Thunderbolt and defending champions Bukit Jalil SS.
This will be a crucial weekend for Anderson as they face UniKL on Friday and then play BJSS on Sunday.
All three teams need to win to keep up with the pace . The loser will lose out in the title race , something they want to avoid but it all points to one or two teams losing ground this weekend.
Anderson coach Mokhtar Baharuddin said that their stay at the top of ther standings is only temporary as they face the big guns over the weekend.
"We really do not have that strong a team and we are lucky to be at the top now. Staying up is going to take some strong performance over the weekend, something we are capable of.
"But what is important for me is that the players try hard and we have to take one step at a time.
"You cannot rule out a surprise but I think the other teams who have more experienced players in their ranks have the edge over us," he said.
BJSS coach S. Prakash agreed that with each match the leading team could change hands many times before the dust settles.
"There are no favourites at this stage as all the teams in the initial stage will have a chance to win. It is down to four teams now but that could change with one match.
"Anderson have good players and will be motivated if they get a good result on Friday (against UniKL). So we will keep an eye one them and plan accordingly," he said.
BPSS-Thunderbolt do not have any big teams on their line of fire this weekend but they too plan to keep up their winning momentum and put pressure on their title rivals.
Their coach Wan Roslan Wan Rahman said raking in the points against the lower ranked teams
is a must.
"You don't drop points if you want to win the title. We have good set of players but only now are they getting to play as a team. I did not have them together earlier.
"For us taking three points from each match is crucial," he said.
Thus the Division One battle will get hot this weekend with the title contenders being narrowed down.
In Division Two, Sabah Sports Council is the teams to watch after their two big wins last week. They have for company Tunku Besar Secondary School at the top and both teams based on their current form could extend their lead by Sunday.
The Division Two matches have been marred by three red cards issued in the opening six matches and there will be worried faces in the MHF if this trend continues.
Thus for this reason the Division two matches will come in for some attention as well, but for different reasons.

MHF RULE OUT KANGAR PITCH
The Malaysian Hockey Federation has declared the Kangar hockey pitch as unworthy of hosting any of the MHF-Milo-NSC Junior Hockey League matches.
And this will be a blow to Matri who are the only team from the state that are participating in the league that commenced on April 9.
An inspection of the pitch was conducted by a team led by MHF Secretary Hashim Yusof last Saturday and it was determined that the condition of the pitch was risky to the players.
"There are just many areas on the pitch that pose a safety issue to players. And we have decided that it is not suitable to host matches," said Hashim.
"We allowed the match on Sunday to proceed as some parts of the pitch was stitched back but we felt that it was a temporary measure.
"Hence we decided that the pitch will not be used for any matches.
"Matri will be required to play their matches in Alor Star and the Kedah HA have graciously consented to this arrangement and will provide technical assistance for the matches."
From pictures made available, it was apparent that many parts of the turf was torn and stitches come off.
Even the condition of the substitute bench and technical table was deplorable.
This is a below to the development of hockey in the northern state which produced Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin, the nations top striker.
