UNIKL ON THE MARCH

Debutants UniKL defeated Bandar Penawar Sports School (BPSS) Juniors 3-1 at the Bandar Penawar Stadium yesterday to regain the lead in Division One of the MHF-Milo-NSC Junior Hockey League (MJHL).

And they are just one match away from winning the title. UniKL have 19 points from seven matches and they will play their final fixture against second-place BPSS-Thunderbolt at the Kuala Lumpur Hockey Stadium on May 21.

BPSS-Thunderbolt have maximum points from six matches and their penultimate fixture is against the national women’s team (MWHA) at the Seremban II Hockey Stadium today.

The match between BPSS Juniors and UniKL was supposed to be played on Friday but had to be postponed because of a heavy downpour.

UniKL, powered by 10 players from the Project 2013 squad, scored their goals against BPSS Juniors through Mohd Syamim Yusof (15th), Mohd Sabri Mohamed (23rd) and Amir Farid Ahmad Fuzi (62nd).

The scorer for BPSS Juniors was Mohd Shahril Saabah (45th).

UniKL coach I. Vickneswaran said: "It’s our debut season in the league and we just one win from creating history. We have five days to work on improving our play and we will be at our best against BPSS-Thunderbolts."
